Show ! ; THE ST. ANN'S CONCERT. . ' The results achieved by the management of the j concert at the Salt hake theatre on St. Patrick's lay were very satisfactory. It does the manage-i manage-i ' : ' ment credit, it does the participants credit, yet the greatest credit belongs to the patrons of the enter- j tainment. after all. For the good people who at- tended the show did not expect to see as good a j i show as they did; at least a part of them did not. . They went because, they felt an interest in the I t benefit which the little children at the orphanage would get from their attendance. And the people who attended are to be congratulated as well as ihose who worked so hard to make the entertain-' entertain-' . I incut a success. ! The Kcarns St. Ann's orphanage is one of the ; most beautiful charities that adorn our city. It is a charily that appeals to all. and the fact is recognized recog-nized that lhc irislitufion has to have money to j . ,1 keep it going, to add to it the things necessary to meet the increasing demands made upon it. For it i the homo of many little children now, and no one knows how many more will be placed there as the years go by. God grant that the number may I " be Mnall! But while all may hope the number may ' be small, the necessity exists of keeping the insti tution in a high state of efficiency that those who i are cared for there might one and all receive the j best care and attention the community can afford. ! Wo believe that everybody that went to the ! t . concert was touched in his heart by the little lads f and lassies in their evolutions, their music, their f dancing, their costumes. It was an entertainment I . , worth while, and no doubt the children who made it a success will remember it all the days of their ; ' lives. And when those who make their homes at i iho institution grow to manhood and womanhood. can anyone doubt the feelings of gratitude they will have for the people who helped them to make ic , tijocess? We believe the profit was greater Than that measured in dollars and cents; greater to everybody who had anything lo do with it. |
