Show THE PROMISE OF THE STATE FAIR. Bigger and better than ever is the word that comes from the publicity department of the state fair management. The fair opens Monday and runs out the week. The number of exhibits will be greater than ever before, and this point alone furnishes reason enough why the fair should be visited by everybody. All the resources of the commonwealth will be set forth, so that one may gain a liberal knoweldge of the resources and opportunities op-portunities of our great state by studying the exhibits. ex-hibits. And none of us knows any too much about v.fliat is going on about us, so a visit to the fair will supply at least a portion of that deficiency in our knowledge. Besides this, entertainment features fea-tures have been provided, including balloon ascen-, ascen-, sion by a lion and a man. The lion will descend from a height of approximately 800 feet in a parachute, para-chute, while the man will continuo to a greater height before making his daring leap for life. Numerous other entertainment features will be given, gladiators and acrobats, and one price of admission will entitle the visitor to everything going, except, of course, the shows on the midway and the horse races. It is the intention of the management to mac the fair the biggest twenty-five cents' worth of entertainment, en-tertainment, instruction and amusement that it is possible to give. With good weather, with weather like that of the present week, the fair ought to have the greatest attendance in the history of the institution. in-stitution. That is what the association is entitled J to, and that is surely what it will have. |
