Show Death of Hero. A gallant Crimea and Mutiny veteran. vet-eran. Colonel Francis Brodigan, died at Piltown House, Drogheda, Ireland the other day, aged 74. With his regiment, the28th, he took part in the Siege of Sebaspool; and in the affair in the Cemetery of September, 1855, he rescued a wounded soldier under heavy musketry fire, when he was severely wounded. He was again wounded in the Indian Mutiny, during dur-ing which he shared in the actions of Beyt Fort at Dwarka with the Okam-undel Okam-undel Field Force. Colonel Brodigan, who retired in 1890. was a magistrate magis-trate for County Meath. |
