Show RECITAL FOR MISS FOSTER. Mrs. Martha Royle. King Introduces Her Pupil. The song recital in which Mrs. Martha Mar-tha Royle King presented her pupil, Miss-Hallie Gilbert Foster, at Barratt hall, Tuesday night, was attended by a large audience. Miss Foster was received re-ceived with much 'appreciation.'' Her voice is a mezzo-soprano, and, according accord-ing to " the opinion of her teacher, is likely to develop into a pure soprano. It is remarkably sweet and has a range of two octaves and ahalf. She sings with the greatest ease and composure and her lack of affectation is particularly particu-larly charming. Her selections were particularly adapted to show the range of her voice, and were attractive. She was assisted as-sisted by Miss Judith Evans as accompanist accom-panist and George E. Skelton on the violin, both well known musicians. Their contributions to the programme were pleasing. Miss Foster is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Foster of East First South street. . She has been under Mrs. King's training one year. She evidently evident-ly has a future before her in' the musical mu-sical world. |
