Show XEW YORK PHILO CELTIC SOCIETY. SO-CIETY. Two notable events in the history of the New York Philo Celtic society occurred oc-curred lately. One was the production produc-tion of the play "An Toide As Tir Nan Og." This enjoyable little comedy met with such universal approval that there are rumors of having it played a second time this season. The well-trained well-trained and talented dramatic section attached to this society acted the play with all the delicate touches of quaint humor which are so necessary to its correct presentment. The second event, was the winning of the Crimmins silver cup offered at the Irish Counties association hall at the Grand Central palace on Saturday evening, October 29, for Irish dancing. danc-ing. The team from New York Philo Celtic society carried oft the honors in this competition so distinctively that the judges in making the awards remarked that one feature of the competition was that the New York Philo Celtic society won the event by more than double the points of the strongest of their compititors. A special committee appointed to investigate and improve upon the prevailing pre-vailing methods of Irish language teaching have formulated a comprehensive compre-hensive scheme of classes which will comael attention from every serious student of the Irish language in this city. The classes and methods of teaching are to be so arranged that the attention and interest of students is strongly gripped from the beginning begin-ning to the end of the teaching period. By this means the New York Philo Celtic society hopes to greatly increase the already . large number of Irish speakers who have obtained a knowledge knowl-edge of their native tongue in the classes of the oldest Gaelic society in the territory.
