Mrs. Marcus Daly aiud maid arrived from the east Tuesday and registered at the Knutsford. Mrs. Daly was on her way to Anaconda from New, York, to which place she took the 11:45 p. m. train. John H. McCrystal. the mining en gineer, left luesday for Nevada on mining business. Before bis return he will make a professional trip to Mexico. Mex-ico. Mrs. J. H. Broyles of Scofield, taL'h. and her nephew. O. T. Broyles of Atlanta, At-lanta, Ga.. are .visiting with friends in the city for a week. On their return home they wlli be accompanied by Miss Lily Broyles. who has been attending the St. Mary's academy lor the past year. Lester Freed has gone to Chicago for a short stay. George Y. Wallace, president of the Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone company, com-pany, returned from the east Wednes day evening. While in New York President Pres-ident Wallace arranged for funds to meet the improvements now under way at the company's building on State street and for other work contemplated contemplat-ed in the intermountain country on the lines of the company. Dr. and Mrs. Donoher entertained Friday evening at dinner Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Le Compte. Miss Hannah and Edward Le Compte of Park City. Mr. and Mrs. George Y. Wallace returned re-turned from their eastern trip Tuesday Tues-day evening, accompanied by their grandson. David Tutttle. Dr. and Mrs. George M. Tuttle will come later from St. Louis for a summer visit. Judge Frank FitzGerald, formerly a member of the Salt Lake fire department, depart-ment, but now a police justice in Anaconda. Ana-conda. Mont., is visiting friends and relatives in the city. It has been about fivfj years since he has been in Salt Lake, and he notes many changes for the better in the city. Mrs. S. C. Welch of Sacramento is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. Gurnsey, 463 East First South street. Mrs. F. E. McGurrin and Mrs. Fred T. McGurrin left Friday night for Los Angeles for a month or six weeks. M-s. A. Fred Wey. who went east to take Miss Wey for a trip abroad, will be back the latter part of the week. Mrs. Richard O'Neil of Wells, Nev., was in the city last week to attend the wadding of her brother, James Mc-Fadden. Mc-Fadden. to Miss Murphy. Mrs. Franklin Carten, after returning home from California recently, has moved from the Keith to the Bransford apartments. |
