By a majority of one the Ennis urban council have changed the names of the following streets in the town: Jail street to O'Connell street; Church street to Abbey street; The Causeway to Francis street, and Mill street to Parnell street. By the death of Mother M. Brigid Brophy on March 18, the community of the Brigidine convent, Tulow, has lost one of its oldest and most revered members. mem-bers. Deceased, who had reached her eightieth year, fifty of which were de-, de-, voted to religion, belonged to an old , "Wlcklow family, being daughter of the late James Brophy, Rathmoon, Baltin-Klass, Baltin-Klass, and Mrs. Brophy, sister of the late Cardinal Cullen.
