Show OGDEN, UTAH. I ; Among the quiet social events of last week, which will prove of interest to a wide circle, was the marriage of Miss Genevieve Emley and Mr. Richard Rich-ard W. Van Derek, two of Ogden's popular young people. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father P. M. Cushnahan early Wednesday morning morn-ing at the home of the bride on Twenty-fourth street. Only the immediate relatives and friends of the contracting parties were present. Miss Edith White, acting as bridesmaid, and Elbert El-bert Emley, brother of the bride, -as best man. After the ceremony the guests were seated in the dining room, which was prettily decorated with sweet peas and potted plants, and served to a dainty breakfast. The bride wore a charming going-away gown of tan, with hat and gloves to match. Miss Emley is a product of . Sacred Heart, and for the past three years has been one of :he competent instructors instruc-tors of the city schools. Mr. Van Derek is a popular young railroad clerk in the office of R. B. Porter. Mr. and Mrs. Van Derek left on the early train for the east, where they will spend th?ir -honeymoon, visiting Denver, Omaha and Chicago, the home of the groom. ' Mr. and Mrs. Langsdcrf have returned re-turned from a visit with relatives in Indiana. Mrs. Thomas Fitzgerald was hostess on Thursday evening at a beautifully arranged dinner party at the Pacific hotel, covers being laid "for eight guests. . L. W. Emley came in from Ely, Nev., to attend the wedding of his daughter. Mr. Emley reports everything booming boom-ing in the copper camp. Mrs. Tom Anderson, nee Mildred Ott, of Salt Lake is visiting in the city for a few days. Miss Belle Healy left for Hailey, Ida., for a two weeks' visit 'among relatives rel-atives and friends. Ed Brown, after two weeks' vacation, which were spejit in the Yellowstone park, has returned. Don Maguire, who has been looking after his mining interests, returned last week. The mine is looking fine. Mrs. Maguire, after two weeks' visit with her sister in Montana, is home again. Abbot McGuiness, son of Judge Mc-Guiness, Mc-Guiness, went to Salt Lake this week. The annual outing of the Knights of Columbus, council 777, will be held at Lagoon Tuesday, Aug. 27, and a big crowd of the Ogden knights and their families will attend. Mrs. TI. Schuiflobvrger has returned to her home in Idaho aftr a visit here with aer sister,. Mrs. Thomas Fitzgtr-ild. |
