Show j HELENA, MONT. Genial, clever, splendid fellow, Joseph Jo-seph eM., better known as Joe O'Brien, is dead. His death occurred at his ranch near Billings Monday, and while it. has been known for some time that Mr. O'Brien was a sick man, it was thought by his countless friends all over the state that he was improving. The news of his death, therefore, came as more or less of a shock. When he died his charming little wife, as well beloved as Joe himself, not only in Helena but In Butte and, in fact, every portion of Montana, was at his bedside. bed-side. His three brothers. C. H. O'Brieii of Chicago, W. M. O'Brien of Salt Lake and E. M. O'Brien of Portland, were notified of his demise. Mr. O'Brien was a representative of -Carson, Pirie, Scott & Co. of Chicago, having come to this state as the firm's representative repre-sentative about ten years ago. Before coming to Helena to reside, Mr. O'Brien made his home in Butte, and particularly In these two cities he built up a circle of friends that may be numbered in hundreds. He was suddenly sud-denly taken seriously sick in this city the middle of July, and after being taken to a local hospital, was eventually eventu-ally able to go to his ranch for what was believed to mean his complete recovery. re-covery. No intimation of the seriousness serious-ness of his condition was received here until the notice of his death came on Monday in the shape of a telegram. It is not known what disposition of the body will be made, but it is supposed the funeral will be held in tnis city. Mr. O'Brien was a member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus. Helena Independent. The death of Thomas A. Reilly of Wickcs, ..an .employe of the Montana hardware store, Butte, occurred of diabetes dia-betes at Helena Friday night. He was only 21 years of age, and a mother, two sisters and several brothers residing re-siding at Wlekes, survive him. |
