The Fer.st of St. Thomas was a gala day within the College. The angelic doctor muut have looked down with complacency on the happy mortals who were celebrating his feast with so much joy and enthusiasm. Interest centers chiefly around the Reverend President, who has, by right of bap- i tism, St. Thomas for his special friend and patron. Many were the tokens cf I esteem and affection he received from wunin ana without the college. Letters Let-ters and telegrams came pouring in from absent friends, so that nothing was wanting to make the feast for him a bright and happy one. In the toast proposed by Father Murphy at dinner he said, among other things that he was "only voicing the unanimous ser-tirnent ser-tirnent of the faculty in wishing Father Murphy a thrice happy feast, "in wishing wish-ing him many nappy returns as the head and inspiring genius of the College, Col-lege, and in hoping before long he would preside in the new All Hallows which will atand as a fitting memoriai to his energy and devotedness." Towards the clofie of dinner the "inimitable" "inim-itable" Tom Powers, accompanied by Rossi Flynn, bearing - a magnificent bouquet, entered the refectory and delivered the following short but happy address: "Rev. and Dear Father Thomas Lar-kin: Lar-kin: I was dragged from oblivion by my schoolmates in the other refectory and ushered into your presence to speak this little Thomas address. I present to you, through the hands of our little friend, Rossi, and in the liame of my schoolmates, this small token of our love. We wish you a most happy feast. We hope that the Angel of the Schools will continue to shed his hallowed light o'er you, that you may continue to dispense to us the I guiding rays of beautiful knowledge. We hope and pray that your soul will continue to infuse the life tnirit of progress into every object connected with, the College, and pray that that soul will, with its vivifying spirit of sacrifice, furnish for many a year the life-blood that will make All Hallows grow to be a giant in the land. In a opirit of love and gratitude we hail you and say: x uc .ixmif in not ueiu; Long live the King!" The College Brass Band and Orchestra, under un-der the direction of Professor Peder-H5n. Peder-H5n. will dispense some of the sweetest music ever heard within All Hallows. The last repetition of the Irish melodies melo-dies was quite entrancing. There will be select songs and recitations, all bearing upon St. Patrick and the Isle he loved.
