Show LEWISTON. A Very Pleasant Affair. (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic.) The ladies connected with the Altar Society of St. Leo's Church in this town gave a delightful social on Monday Mon-day evening. Feb. 2G, at Culver's Hall I inesiT fcue-iais are amended oy the very-best very-best class in- the community, irrespective irrespec-tive of creed, and the ladies having the affair in charge proved themselves rarely gifted in the art of entertaining their friends and invited guests. The attendance was unusually large, over 250 persons being present In the hall Appropriate games of various descriptions descrip-tions were indulged in and right royally did every one enjoy themselves. A de licious luncheon was served, w hich was a treat in itself and of so palatable a na ture as to delight the most fastidious After luncheon was disposed of the hall was cleared and a very pleasant hour was devoted to dancing The ladies la-dies of the Altar Society were highly complimented and were the recipients of much praise for the hospitable'man-ner hospitable'man-ner with which they entertained their guests. The following are the names of the ladies who so successfully managed man-aged the affair: Mesdames Hannah, Kate and Annie Crowley, Katie N. Lant, Rose N. Mac-Gowan Mac-Gowan and Miss Nellie Glancey. This is the last social which the Catholic Cath-olic ladies will give until after the ter- i mination of the Lenten season |
