Show Old Catholic Family. The "Queen" writes as follows: Lord and Lady Denbigh make an interesting couple. They are both of ancient lineage, line-age, and both ardent Roman Catholics. Lord Denbigh has been a soldier and a lord in waiting, is a keen fisherman, and, oddly enough, caught what was most likely the only trout ever hooked in London. This he secured in the lake at Buckingham Palace, which haa, us it chanced, been stocked with trout a few years ago at his suggestion. Lady Denbigh is a sister of Lord Clifford, of Chudleigh, and is tall and nice-looking, with bronw hair and a pale complexion. She, like many of her co-religionists, leads a home life, and spends most of her time with her seven daughters, each of whom, according to Catholic custom, bears the name of Mary. She is a thoughtful woman, much interested in the education question, and not loflg ago wrote a letter to the papers saying that every girl from the age of five should have an allowance given her, so that she might learn how to manage money and know its values and uses. And Lady Denbigh takes much interest in the Ningpo embroideries and native silk industries which have been established estab-lished In China by Englishwomen. |
