Show WILL CONSIDER GREGORIAN CHANT. New York, May 4. An event of the highest importance at the present stage of the Gregorian chant question is the international congress of experts to be held at Strassburg from "Aug. 16 to 19. Inclusive. The congress has been called together to-gether by Dr. P. W'agner, professor of Gregorian chant at the University of Freiburg, Switzerland. A letter recently received in this city from Professor Wagner, who was then in Rome, said that Pope Pius X will insist in-sist on a reform according to the regulations regu-lations of his "Motu Proprio" on church music. |
