John Crilly of Belfast, died recently. He was a staunch supporter of the national na-tional cause, and a member of the various vari-ous national organizations. For a quarter quar-ter of a century he was county delegate of the A. O. H. for Antrim. Armagh. The tenants have bought the Dobbin estate at Drumakane, at 21H and 24V& years' purchase of first and second term rents. Sporting and mineral ritrhts were reserved to them. The only son of Thomas Greer of Eal-Jybreagh, Eal-Jybreagh, near Portadown, who is 16 years of age, was cutting hay from a rick recently when the stack toppled ' over, burying him. lie was rescued after three houns, and was not seriously serious-ly injured. Carlow. The tenants have bought the estate of Thomas M. C. Vigors in Leighlin-bridge Leighlin-bridge at 21 and 231," years' purchase of the rents. They paid $60,000. The death occurred on the 7th inst. of James Galligan of Cavan. He was the chairman of the Urban district council. Mrs. Mary Moore, wife of Edward Moore, of Dublin, boilermaker, died on March 31. She was the third daughter daugh-ter of James Donohue of Ballyconnell. Clare. Mrs. Michael Reidy of Tullycrine died on March 15 at an early age. She sprung from an ancient and respectable family. The following delegates have been elected to represent the Labasheeda branch of the United Irish league at the divisional executive: John Mc-Namara. Mc-Namara. John O'Neill, James O'Neill, John Kelly, Martin Casey and William Kelly. Cork. A rick of hay, containing about eight tons, the property of Callaghan Ambrose Am-brose of Coolroe, near Fermoy. was destroyed de-stroyed by fire on April 2. The fire is believed to be the result of accident. - PRESENTATION IN THE CITY. A very pleasant and harmonious function recently took place at the warehouse of Messrs. Alexander Grant & Co., Cork, when Mr. John Biggane was presented with a valuable gold watch and tea service by the staff, as an evidence of their esteem on the occasion oc-casion of his appointment to the important im-portant position of manager at the Munster Arcade (Messrs. Robertson, Dedlie. Ferguson & Co., Ltd.), Cork. Mr. Biggane commenced his business career at Messrs. Grant & Co.'s, and at an unusually early age became i buyer of their dress department, and subsequently of the silks, both of which he soon brought to a conspicuous1 conspicu-ous1 degree of prosperity, which h? maintained to the end. 'His friends, who are as numerous on this side of the channel as in Ireland, will be glad to learn that his marked business ability, abil-ity, and his unvarying courtesy and tact, which have long been recognized have found their reward. He is an ardent supporter and practical advocate of the Gaelic League, and has frequently frequent-ly delivered eloquent discourses on the vernacular. Rev. J. J. O'Sullivan, curate cu-rate at Brosna, has been transferred to j Lixnaw. He was a practical promoter J of Irish industries and helped morally and materially the Irish industrial movement. He was president of the Brosna Co-operative Dairy society. The Iveragh branch of the Gaelic League gave an entertainment on April 3 as a mark of its appreciation of the work done on behalf of the Irish revival re-vival by Fathers Harty and Finacune, dan, and with the approval of Dr. Man-gan, Man-gan, bishop of Kerry, have since gone to America to collect funds for the O'Con-nell O'Con-nell Memorial church, Cahirclveen. Mrs. Honoria Forristal Dillon of Rath, Danesport, died on April 7. The death occurred on the 5th inst. or Martin Saunders of Ballycallan. He was a successful merchant. A largely attended meeting of the local branch of the Town Tenants' association as-sociation was held at Cloneygowan on March 29. and. on the motion of John Farrell, seconded by Cornelius Connor, resolutions were adopted in support of the Town Tenants' association, and calling on all villages and towns to form branches. Father Casserly, parish priest, an? the nationalists of Ferbane have closed their collection for the parliamentary fund and sent the trustees fifteen guineas. The collection represents the subscriptions of nearly every one in the parish and districts outlying, as it is made up principally of small subacrlp-tions, subacrlp-tions, the districts, generally speaking, being comprised of small farmers' holdings. hold-ings. The estate of Sir John Leslie has been sold to the tenants; to first term tenants, ten-ants, having rents fixed prior, to 1896, at 21 years' purchase; and second term tenants! rents fixed since above period, 24'2: non-judicial tenants were dealt with individually and placed on same footing as judicial tenants- all tenants retain their bog. . Dran-gan, Dran-gan, died on March 20, at a great age. His popoularity was testified to by the I immense procession which accompanied his remains to Drangan Cemetery. Mrs. Daniel Kelly, of Aileen, near Tipperary, died on March 7, at the age of 7G. Deceased was the mother of Daniel Kelly, of Tipperary, who took an active part in the historic- Smith-Barry Smith-Barry struggle, and who is secretary of the local branch of the United Irish League and trustee of the new Tipperary Tipper-ary property purchased by Mrs. William Will-iam O'Brien. Her daughter, Sister Emilius Kelly, of Kilburn, London, was present when she died. Tyrone.
