Show FLOODS ALONG THE RIO GRANDE RIVER Laredo, Tex., Sept. 13. The flood of the Rio Grande is sweeping the valley below here today. Great damage has been done. The river is up twenty-one feet at Laredo and is still rising. Many thousands of acres of irrigated farms are inundated between Laredo and Hidalgo, Hi-dalgo, covering a distance of 200 miles. The towns of Ignacio, Roma and other smaller settlements on both sides of the river are said to be inundated and many houses are washed away. Parts of the towns of Carrizo and Rio Grande City are under water. It is feared that many lives have been lost. |
