Show OGDEN". (Special Correspondence.) The evening of the 23d was rendered memorable by the Alumnae banquet and reception of the graduates of '04. More beautiful even than the banuttet hall on the occasion of the silver jubilee ju-bilee was that prepared for the reception recep-tion of this class. With exquisite taste the Alumnae members had transformed the front parlors into a scene of glowing beauty. Trailing smilax intertwined with bands of red ribbon extended from the chandeliers chan-deliers and joined the center piece, which was a basket of gorgeous red popples, white carnations and delicato ferns. Rich palms ferns and aura-caria aura-caria formed a soothing background ti the wealth of color which evidenced the artistic taste of Sacred Heart's devoted Alumnae. Rev. P,.M. Cushnahan, Rev. T. B. Thompson of Boulder, Mont., and Rev. P. J. Walsh of Evanston. Wyo., hon- ' ored the banquet with their presence. I Right royal was the welcome the ! president, Miss A. Maguire, accorded the seven members of the class of '04. and very graceful were the sentiments of the newly initiated, each of whom responded ill turn. The tnasta irr.ru spontaneous efforts and all were brimful brim-ful of welcome greetings to the pastor. Rev. P. M. Cushnahan sail that the members of Sacred Heart Alumnae could take their places gracefully grace-fully alongside the noblest lady he had met in any land. Fathers Thompson and Walsh responded re-sponded in a happy vein, expressed the pleasure they felt in being guests on this eventful occasion and heartily congratulated con-gratulated the class of '04 and the members of the organization. The remainder of the evening was spent in music and gay conversation. The only invited guests, besides the reverend clergy, were: Miss G. Noe Terrace, Utah: Mrs. Nellie Fitzgerald McCabe, Washington, D. C, and Ethel M. Harcombe, '03. |
