Show BRECKENR1DGE, COLO. (Special Correspondence.) Breckenridge, Colo.. Aug. 25. We have services once a month, and are always happy when our zealous pastor comes and says mass. The 16th of August was more than usually a joyful joy-ful one. The little ones on that day made their first communion. It was the largest class we ever had. The children were instructed by Mrs. W. P. Condon, who for three months, had a catechism class each day at her home. Our pastor, pas-tor, Rt. Rev. Mns. Wunderlich, spent the last week in preparing them for the reception of the sacrament. Instructions Instruc-tions were given twice a day. After the mass all renewed their baptismal vows. As- a memento of the happy occasion each child was presented with a communion com-munion card and rosary. The high mass was sung by a special choir, who selected se-lected the Gregorian chant. Miss Moran presided at the organ, Mrs. Hamlet of Denver, soprano; George Paris, tenor; Miss Rosa Cummins, alto, and Miss Moran, bass. Mrs. Hamlet sang an Ave Maria as a solo. At the evening services we had benediction bene-diction of the Blessed Sacrament". The O'Salutaris was sung by Mrs. Hamlet, who also with George Paris, sang the Tantum Ergo. The day will be long remembered in this mining camp, and no one was happier than our beloved pastor, who takes such deep Interest in the spiritual welfare of his flock. The last first communion class was three years sgo, when Father Gallagher was our pastor. OLD-TIMER. |
