Show DIABOLICAL ANTI-CATHOLIC HATRED. That there exists in certain quarters a diabolical hatred, of the Catholic church is shown by a horrible hor-rible orgie that recently took place in Paris. We learn of the details from the London Catholic Times': "One would have hoped that even Russian Grand Dukes and the rich Jews' colony of Paris would not push their 'decadent ism' to the extent of, attending an orgie in a church; but. nevertheless, neverthe-less, a week or so ago a scene of an ineffably odious character took place in the presence of numerous 'cultured' Russians and Israelites in the ex-chapel of the Sacred Heart convent in Paris. The government gov-ernment long since seized this magnificent property prop-erty and placed it in the hands of liquidators, who. however, not having been successful in disposing of it. occasionally let it out for fetes and bazaars. A gentleman described as secretary of the Russian Rus-sian embassy recently hired it and organized in the church the extraordinarily schocking scene to which we allude. Some two hundred Jews and Jewesses Jew-esses representing the upper class of Jewish fast society in Paris, a few Russians and about half a dozen French women of rank, of Semitic origin, accepted invitations, and, together with three Russian Rus-sian fraud dukes, attended the obscene' and blas-phemoiv blas-phemoiv show. After refreshments i nthe sacristy, they were invited to take their places in the choir, so lately occupied by the nuns. Then the 'performance' 'perform-ance' began. A dancer first appeared wrapped in silver tissue and gauze; she commenced by swaying to and fro in front of the altar, which has not yet been stripped of its crucifix. Then suddenly throwing off her veils, she gave, in a state of absolute nudity, a parody of the mass, eventually presenting the community with bon-bons in mock-erv mock-erv of the Holy Communion. Then a troop of naked youths and girls rushed forward and danced round the altar, chanting blasphemous hymns to the delight of the magnificently dressed Jews and Jewesses, who applauded to the echo. . And so if went on." 'When the French government began its war upon the church a few years ago it was sad to note that many non-Catholic writers and preachers preach-ers in this eountrv gave their hearty approval, to the persecution. They did not concern themselves to examine into the right or wrong of the question. ques-tion. They were content to know only that the Catholic church was warred upon. The motives or mtehods of the prosecutors were not taken into consideration. Their motto was that ever'- attempt to hamper the church deserved approval. The blasphemers blas-phemers who assembled in Paris the other day were actuated by similar motives as moved the other French assailants of the church. But we do not believe that tthey will dare to commend the participants par-ticipants in the dreadful orgy: The incident, however, how-ever, ought to open the eyes of all non-Catholics to the unreasoning hatred of the church by her enemies.
