Show f SOCIAL AND PERSONAL I . Francis FitzGerald, the clever young reporter of the Salt Lake Herald, has been seriously ill at the Holy Cross hospital for the past ten days. His many friends will be glad to hear that he is now convalescing. Frank B. Tiernay, editor of the Bingham Bing-ham Bulletin, was in Salt Lake on Thursday. The Misses Ora and Laurine Knight, daughters of Mrs. Hattie Knight of Modena, arrived in Salt Lake during the past week. They will make their home with Miss Nora Gleason, attending attend-ing school, and taking a special course in piano with Miss Gleason. J. L. Grimm, formerly of the Booth Packing company, has accepted a position po-sition with the Armours. Mrs. Fred T. Wilson is visiting in Los Angeles, and will later visit Portland. Port-land. Mrs. Chkrles Vadner and son. Ivers, have gone east for a .three month's stay. Mrs. P. E. Sullivan of Bingham Junction was in the city on Wednesday. Wednes-day. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wood will leave shortly for an eastern trir. Mrs. William Silverstone of Chicago is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Graves of Belleview terrace. P. Delmas, the well known mining man, returned last week from Nevada. Mrs. W. D. Rlshel and daughter, Virginia, have returned from a visit to Provo. Mrs. c. C. Slade Is fast convalescing from the effects of her recent illness. Miss Bertha 'Michels of the cathedral cathe-dral parish is one of the contestants for the Salt Lake Tribute contest. Bertha Ber-tha is a deserving young girl, and her many friends hope for her success. Miss Ellen Norton of Helena, Mont., is visiting Mrs. W.-W. Norton. Mrs. I. C. Glosz has returned after a stay of some two months In the cast. Mrs. M. F. Cunningham of Ogden. was a Salt Lake visitor Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Hagenbarth and children, who have been spending the summer at their ranch at Spencer, Ida., have returned to the city. Mrs. Mary Judge and Miss Katherine Judge will spend the autumn at The Cobbles, their country home. Mrs. Thomas Kearns will be here early next month to spend a few weeks in the city. She will return kiter to the Kearns ranch at Santa Rosa. Miss Elizabeth Cosgriff entertained a few friends at a luncheon at the Country Coun-try .club Tuesday. Miss Mary Wall leaves early in October Oc-tober to .spend the winter in Mrs. Som-mers' Som-mers' school in Washington. Mrs. John C. Daly entertained again last week at bridge at the Bintz home, when six tables were filled with the players. The hostess was assisted in entertaining by Mrs. William M. Mc-Crea, Mc-Crea, Mrs. William M. Hunt an -I Miss Merce Berkeley. Prizes were won by Mrs. George Lambourne, Mrs. W. S. Henderson, Mrs. Vaughn Paul, Mrs. A. Fred Wey. Mrs. S. B. Tuttle and Mrs. Clarence Warnock. Miss Alice Mahoney of Butte, Mont., is the guest of Mrs. E. G. Hines, 765 East Second South street. The "Merry Widows" delightfully surprised Miss Mildred Cuddy on Wednesday Wed-nesday evening in honor of her birth-day. birth-day. The "widdies" present were Mrs. G. Stone, Mrs. W.
