Show j CHEYENNE, WYO. Entertainment by Seniors of Convent of Holy Child Jesus. (Special Correspondence.) Cheyenne, Nov. 1. On Friday evening even-ing last the senior eirls of. the school -gave an entertainment in the convent hall in honor of the Reverend Mother Superior's feast day. The principal feature of the programme was the tableau tab-leau scenes from the life of Queen Esther, a type of the Blessed Virgin. In the first scene Mardochai seeks Queen Esther, and implores her' intercession inter-cession for the Jews condemned to death. In the second the court of King Assuerus is represented. Queen Esther, unbidden, appears before him. The third tableau was the banq-uet hall. The king, queen. Aman and attendants, also guards being present. The chil-. chil-. dren taking the leading parts were: Our Lady, Miss Mary Cross; the angels. an-gels. Misses Winifred Taylor. Annie Coughlin, Fern Raymond, Margaret MuUison: King. Assuerus, Miss Margaret Mar-garet Holliday; Queen Esther. Miss Nellie. Martin: Mardochai, Miss Julia Brown: Aman. Miss Mary Keogh; , guards. Misses Katie Heenan and Esther Es-ther Friebel: court ladies. Misses Ethel Warlaumont. Rene Tuhey, Gertrude Marks and Matilda Klett; courtiers, Misses Nellie Bnrlow, Coletie Degnan and. Mary Lynch: nages. Misses, Annette An-nette Keefe and Esther Bolln. k' The tableaux were very successful any every one present enjoyed them. Pleasing comments were, heard, .unbidden, .unbid-den, by those taking part as the company com-pany dissolved and they were iiurry-insr iiurry-insr away to take off their glories. Then followed the musical numbers which were weir rendered.-- Two. viotin solos, a ejuaftette, duet for two pianos, a Hoy symphony and a full orchestra being be-ing interspersed -with-r.'.rrj'tte Swing Song," and "The Hymn to Blessed Margaret Mary," vhi'il were well surig. j The illuminated address was read by Miss Elizabeth Keefe, and presented by Miss Annie Coughlin, Miss Janie Mitchell bearing a large bouquet of liowers. The performers of the musical selection selec-tion were Misses Irene and Helen ' Keefe, Carrie Welsh, Frances Adams. Lizzie Niland, Bessie Marks and Irene Warlaumont. There were twenty-four girls taking part in the. orchestra, which was applauded vigorously by those in the audienre. The entire concert was the result of earnest endeavor un the parx of the Pupils, and will leave a sweet memory in the minds of those who were fortunate fortu-nate enough to te present. |
