Show SACRED HEART ACADEMY. Pupils Entertain Prelate at Concert. Rev. Andrew Morrisey, provincial -of the Holy Cross at Notre Dame, Ind., called on the sisters of the Holy Cross at Sacred Heart academy yesterday, on his way to Portland. He was entertained en-tertained with an impromptu concert, at which was given one of the most artistic ar-tistic programs ever rendered by young pupils. Coming from so high an authority au-thority as Father Morrisey, who is attached at-tached to one of the great Catholic educational ed-ucational institutions in America, the compliment is decidedly appreciated by the sisters in charge of Sacred Heart academy. The young artists who took part in the concert were the Misses Mabel and Alice Coltman of Idaho Falls, Ida.; the Misses Loretta and Genevieve Malone of Ogden, on the violin and piano; Miss Jennie Tartar of Pine Dale, Wyo., in vocal and instrumental parts, and other younger people of accomplishment. accomplish-ment. It was a splendid experience for Father Fa-ther Morrisey and he went away with the thought, which he freely expressed, that the east does not hold all of the musical talent that exists, and that the Sacred Heart in Ogden was developing artists in music that are equal to the best of the educational institutions in the nation. Salt Lake Tribune, Nov. 20. A special Ireat was enjoyed Sunday, Nov. 18, by the pupils of the advanced class in music, that of attending a recital, re-cital, the prominent numbers on the program being rendered by Miss Celeste Ce-leste Conroy, the accomplished sister of our mayor. All pronounced her interpretation inter-pretation and execution of the difficult numbers by Weber, Henselt and Mos-kowski Mos-kowski excellent and truly artistic. |
