Show Obituary. Sullivan. Timothy Sullivan, the well, known Park City miner who, up to about six years ago, was superintendent of the Silver King mine, died of miners' consumption con-sumption in Los Angeles Thursday of last week, and the remains were shipped here for interment. . -Probably no miner in Utah was better bet-ter known or better liked than was "Tim" Sullivan. It was under his skillful direction that the Silver King, bonanza at Park City was systematically systemat-ically and splendidly opened- Something Some-thing over six years ago he was stricken strick-en with pneumonia and for weeks he was kept alive by forcing oxygen into his lungs. His recovery was one of the marvels in the history of -medical practice in . this state, and the entire camp watched the case with the same interest that a mother would watch a dying son. After his recovery he determined de-termined never to enter a mine again in any capacity other than as a visitor and he shortly afterward removed to Salt Lake. " f Accompanied by his wife he traveled trav-eled a great deal in search of health and strength and, for a year or two-it two-it seemed "that he would sooner or later be himself again. Finally, how-vr, how-vr, miners' consumption settled upon him and during- the past year he has been gradually succumbing to its ravages. rav-ages. ' ; ' About - one month ago his physician recommended that he go to the coast, and when he left his friends knew that it would be to return as he did. Timothy Sullivan always stood high in the estimation not only of the miners min-ers who worked under him, but his employers ajid the community In which he made his home. No man could have had better regard for the feelings, comfort and welfare of those "who toiled in the mines. The funeral occurred from O'Don-nell's O'Don-nell's on Thursday afternoon". The sympathy sym-pathy of many friends, is extended to the bereaved wife in her bereavement. |
