Show 7 CCC ENROLLMENT IS SET FOR JULY FOR IDAHO YOUTHS Opportunity for employment for 320 young men in Idaho is being made available through the CCC enrollments to be held on July 9 and 18, according to Joseph F. Smith, local selecting agent of the department of public assistance. The young men must be between the ages of 17 and 23;,, unmarried, unmar-ried, citizens of the United States, physically fit, and who are out of a job. All enrollees receive $30 per month in addition to board, room, and medical and dental care. Enrollees from Idaho are sent to one of four camps located in Idaho Ida-ho where they are given educational educa-tional and vocational training and many enrollees become Bkilled in ! such work as auto mechanics, sur-' sur-' veying, cooking, forestry, and j truck and caterpillar driving. Mr. Smith reports that many of the enrollees obtain good jobs in private pri-vate industry after finishing uieir employment in the CCC, because of the special attention given fcv educational directors and project foremen in the camps. Adequate recreational facilities are available avail-able to all enrollees. The status of a CCC youth during the Nation, al Defense effort is that of any other civilian. Unemployed young men, who are interested in the opportunities offered of-fered by the Civilian Conservation Corps should apply immediately at the office of the Franklin County Department of Tublic Assistance, o o |
