Walker John Charles Gregory was born In Clinton Illinois on May 17 1862 a son of David and Ruth McKenny Gregory When he was only three years of age his father was kilted killed In action in th the civil war while fighting for the Union forces and at the age of fourteen Mr Gregory was waa called upon to help support support sup sup- port the family working as a fireman for an eastern railroad company He was promoted to engineer at the age of nineteen and served in that capacity capaci capaci- ty until the time tine of his retirement in 1932 i On April 3 1900 he came to Salt Lake City and went to work for the I Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railway company compan He was married to Edith Walker of Cedar City on January 11 1903 From this union three sons eons were born two of whom are still living living liv Uv ing Ins Arthur 25 and Cleve 22 Besides his two sons sana and widow he heIs heIs heis Is survived ed by a brother A.
