| Show I Last Rites Held For Aged Pioneer Funeral services were held in the Second ward chapel Sunday afternoon afternoon after after- noon for Mrs Alice Bladen Bulloch 83 who died Friday at the home of her daughter Mrs Henry Mackelprang Mackelprang Mackel Mackel- prang of complications following a prolonged illness from pneumonia Mrs Bulloch had been in the hospital for three weeks suffering from pneumonia pneumonia monia but had recovered sufficiently to be to her daughters daughter's home Tuesday evening she developed a gall gallbladder gallbladder gallbladder bladder trouble and later peritonitis which caused her death The services were opened with the Second ward mixed quartet singing Sweet Rest and prayer was WI offered by E E. E J. J Palmer The speakers were Lehi Lehl W. W Jones Mrs E. E C. C Watson Andrew Corry and President Wm R. R Palmer Bro Jones Joner and Bro Corry were life long friends of nf Mrs Bulloch all three of them being early pioneers pioneers of Cedar City and having lived in the Old Fort Port during the early settlement of this valley Mrs Watson had been one of Mrs Bulloch's closest friends for years past and had been Intimately associated with her during her de declining declining de- de clining years The speakers ted recounted events in the life of Mrs Bulloch during during dur dur- ing the early pioneering of this city and all spoke highly of her character and virtues Fulfilling a request made by Mr Mrs Bulloch before her death Mrs Hazel Granger sang What Shall Be My Angel Name The Ser Second nd ward quartet also sang Flower Land and end closed the services by singing Lead Me Gently Home with Bp E. E M. M Corry soloist Beautiful sentiments from the members members members mem mem- bers of the Cedar camps of the Daughters Daughters Daugh Daugh- of Utah Pioneers were read by Mrs Magrie Magr Uric Urle Benediction was pronounced by Wm V. V Walker and the grave was dedicated dedicate by Joseph F F. Fife Mrs Bulloch was born torn in Yorkshire England July 28 1849 and came to America as an infant Her family first settled in the Old Fort west of oC Cedar City During her girlhood she was the first telegraph operator in Cedar City and also a member of the first choir organized here In la la- la ter years ears she was as a Relief Society worker for many years She was m married April 5 5 1869 to David Bulloch who died In 1923 Four sons and one daughter survive David C. C Robert W. W Thomas and Angus and Mrs Marybell Mackelprang Mackelprang Mackel Mackel- prang Cedar City 37 grandchildren and seven se great-grandchildren great two to sisters half-sisters and one half-brother half Mrs Adeline Morris Rock Island III Ill Mrs Agnes Zimmerman and James Bulloch New York |
