Show Local Bank Shows Creditable Gains Following the annual meeting of the stockholders of the Gunnison Valley Val-ley bank held in this city Tuesday morning, theVfficers and stockholders of the institution were highly elated over the showing made during the past year and the prediction was freely free-ly made that the coming year would see a meritorious increase in business. The financial report submitted at the meeting showed a large increase as compared with a year ago. This condition, it is said, is the result of a better beet harvest, general crop conditions and the splendid prices received re-ceived by the stockmen for cattle and sheep. Promises for the coming agricultural season look highly encouraging en-couraging and indications are that bumper harvests will result and naturally nat-urally farmers will be helped in a financial way. At the election of officers, no change was made. O. B. Berglund, president of the institution for many years past, was again elected to head the official roster. J. C. Mellor and ; Wm. Metcalf, were chosen as vice- presidents, and Ira Overfelt, secretary-treasurer. The officers, together togeth-er with O. L. Malmgren, J. N. Chi-is-tiansen, Richard Fjeldsted and Ora Overfelt will constitute the board of directors. Mr. Overfelt, who holds a substantial substan-tial block of the stock through a recent purchase, was appointed i cashier. Mr. Overfelt assumed his, , position at the resignation of F. A. I Beck, more than a month ago. |
