Show Popular Couple Married Tuesday One of the real social events of the early summer, and in which two of Gunnison's prominent young social leaders were principals, was held at the R. B. Metcalf home Tuesday evening, eve-ning, when Miss -Alda Metcalf, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray B. Metcalf, Met-calf, became the wife of Vearl Peterson, Peter-son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Peterson. The ceremony was performed perform-ed at seven-thirty, Bishop Leslie Kidman Kid-man officiating, and in the presence . of fifty-two guests. Ernest Halverson, an uncle to the bride, played Lohengrin's wedding inarch, and Mr. Peterson, accompanied by Kimbal Larsen as best man, preceded pre-ceded the bride and her father to the room and before a bank of varigated roses and cut flowers. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Beulah Metcalf. The bride was gowned in an embroidered embroi-dered pink net over satin, and carried car-ried pink roses. The groom wore the conventional black. Following the wedding ceremony the bride and groom and more than fifty guests assembled at the Wis-J taria cafe, where a wedding supper was given. The large table was profusely pro-fusely decorated with pink sweet peas, crystal candlesticks with pink candles, can-dles, and centering the table was a huge wedding cake. Mrs. Peterson, who was born in Gunnison, is widely known in social, educational and musical circles. After graduating from the local high school she attended the B. Y. university at Provo, and later took a musical and business course at Salt Lake. Mr. Peterson, Pe-terson, also a native of this city, completed com-pleted his studies at the high school, and later completed a business course at Salt Lake. For the past several years he has been junior member of the Martin Peterson Auto company. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Peterson left for a brief honeymoon trip to j Yellowstone park. On their return they will go to Richfield, whpre they will make their home, and where Mr. Peterson Pe-terson will assume charge of the business busi-ness recently purchased by his father. Mr .and Mrs. Peterson have hosts of intimate friends and all will extend i the best for a happy and prosperous I voyage on the sea of matrimony. |
