Show KIDS COMMIT NUISANCE. Young men, old enough, it is believed, to have some training and a grain of sense, are being' led too far. by a determination to become real "outlaws." One of the latest, and one of the nastiest tricks, was committed at the Gun- nison Valley bank Monday eve- ninjr. When the officers of the bank arrived Tuesday for busi- ness, they found the front door and windows of the institution spattered with mud, creating a disgraceful appearance. Not only tliis act, but many others have been reported. The persistency of the younger boys to destroy the two drinking fountains on Main street has met with success. The fountain at the bank corner has been tampered with until it is" now almost unfit to use. It has been almost kicked from its moor- ings and the spout, where the wa- ter flows, has been broken off, thus making it useless. The foun- tan a block south meets with the same treatment, and only for the watchfulness and constant care is it fit to drink from. Parents had best warn their children of these abuses, as officers have been in- structed to arrest the first one tampering with the fountains. |
