Show Sanpete County Is Signally Recognized Sanpete county won distinct recognition recog-nition when three educators from Gunsison, Ma'nti and Ephraim were selected officers for Vocational Teachers and Agriculture at the closing clos-ing of the two-week session of the 1935 conference held at the Agricultural Agricul-tural college at Logan. I. L. Henrie, head of the Smith-Hughes agricultural agricul-tural training at th Gunnison Valley Val-ley high school, was elected vice-president, vice-president, and in addition was presented pre-sented with a gold medal in recognition recog-nition of having served ten years in vocational agriculture in Utah. The gold medal is in neat design, with the name of the organisation and the winner's name cleverly inscribed. I Ferd Alder, a former teacher in 1 the Gunnison schools, but of late years in charge of vocational agri-; agri-; culture at the Manti high school, was elected president, and was also pre- sented with a gold medal sim'lar to ! that received by Mr. Henrie. The ! third instructor in the county to be I placed as an officer was Clive Re- mund of Ephraim, who was elected secretary. 1 Mr. Henrie, on his return home, declared the summer school session to have been one of great interest to : the many attending. C. E. Card, head of the poultry department of the Un'versity of Illinois, was the special instructor. |
