Show Joseph H. Ferre Dies at Salt Lake Word was received here by relatives late Tuesday, announcing the death of Joseph H. Ferre, a former well known Gunnison resident, at his home in Salt Lake City. Death was the result of cancer of the stomach, from which he suffered for a number of years. For six weeks past he had been confined to a hospital, but conditions grew worse and he was taken to his home. Mr. Ferre, a native of Utah, was born at Provo May 22, 1885. When a boy, he came to Gunnison with his parents and grew to manhood here. He resided in this city practically all his life until ten years ago, when he went to Salt Lake, where he was a valued employee of the Utah Poultry Producers' association. Mr. Ferre is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eugenia Ferre, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Ferre, two sons, J. Buel and Richard Ferre, of Salt Lake; three brothers, S. R. and Chas. Ferre of Salt Lake, and Alva A. Ferre, Jr., of California. Six sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Hazel Bartell of California; Cali-fornia; Mrs. Nellie Clothier of Fillmore; Fill-more; Mrs. Kate Booth of Midvale; Mrs. Lydia Haggerty of Green River, Wyo.; Mrs. Elsie Cushman of Rex-burg, Rex-burg, Ida.; Mrs. Fontella Kyle of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Roper, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Roper and Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Roper left this, Thursday, morning for Salt Lake to be with Mrs. Ferre, who is a sister to the Roper brothers. Services for Mr. Ferre will be held at Salt Lake City at 11 a. m. Friday morning, and immediately after the body will be brought to Gunnison ! where brief services will be held about five o'clock in the evening. |
