Show Buchanan Reunion Largely Attended The first annnual reunion of the Buchanan family, held at Palisade park three days last week, proved a real success and more than 200 were in attendance to enjoy the festivities arranged by the committees. Descendants Descen-dants from Ogden, Provo, Delta, Venice, Ven-ice, Richfield, and many parts of Sanpete San-pete county attended the affair. Heads of the various committees had arranged for a gala time, and each day saw something unusual and interesting. Programs, baseball games, swimming and boating were among the various numbers offered. Several meetings were held at which time a study of the genealogy of the Buchanan Buchan-an family was made. In as much as the reunion held last week was the first, it is proposed to go deeper into the family tree and compile a complete com-plete record of the Buchanan family. A special committee has been named to carry out this plan. There have been two organizations available, due to the fact that there were two brothers, John Buchanan and Archibald Buchanan, both of Scotch parentage. The brothers, however, were born in Ohio, and came to Utah with the early pioneers. The compilation compila-tion of the genealogy of the two families fami-lies is to be made during the coming year and at the 1933 annual reunion, to be1 held at Palisade park, fuller details de-tails will be reported. |
