Show Salt Lake Bankers Deeply Impressed We are delighted and highly encouraged en-couraged with the prospects of the coming season throughout Gunnison and the adjoining valleys for a real crop production for 1932, voiced R. C. Wilson and Royal C. Barnes, assistant as-sistant vice-nresidents for the Secur- ity National bank at Salt Lake. The bank officials came down from the north and before returning they visited vis-ited in Gunnison as the guests of Ira Overfelt, cashier for the Gunnison Valley bank, and bank officials of Salina, Richfield, Monroe, Manti and Fairview, where the Security bank is serving as correspondent for the bank institutions named. The stability of your local bank, Mr. Wilson stated, is wonderful considering con-sidering the depression that has caused so much distress in some of the banks of the state. The beet industry, in-dustry, he continued, if carried out on the plans announced, and with water conditions so favorable, should be a big boost for the Gunnison valley. val-ley. The cash payment offered at the end of the harvesting season, with the offer of the $5.00 minimum payment pay-ment if the 7,000 acres are planted, should be an aid in getting many of the growers from the "red." Both Messrs. Wilson and Barnes were close observers and following the trip to Monroe, accompanied by Mr. Overfelt, the visitors expressed themselves as more than pleased and they praised the populace for the real grit being shown to forget depression and talk prosperity. The bank officials returned north Friday afternoon. |
