Show Passengers Have Close Call In Wreck When a Ford coupe can take a ditch nose-downward, catapult in the I air and make a complete double turn I over, turn on its side and allow five , passengers to escape with but very j few scratches that's luck. But this i is what happened to Arley Sorenson, two other boys and two girls, tho names of whom are being withheld for some reason, late Sunday night. The coupe, other than having the radiator smashed, the fenders bent and the radius rod and front wheels put out of commission, escaped real serious damage. None of the glass I in the Windshield nor the doors were j broken. I Sorenson and his party, the story j goes, were returning from a visit to I Westview and were rounding the curve just west of the Parley Childs home, west of town. At the curve ! there is a bridge and In making the i turn, the driver, misjudged measure-! measure-! ments and missed the bridge, the car going into a deep irrigating ditch which courses by at that point. I Wth the evident crowded condition of the car there being five passengers, passeng-ers, according to reports it is only a : miracle that a life was not lost, and ' perhaps the glass not being broken, 1 saved some of the occupants from medical attention. |
