Show Gunnison Chapter NaniesYear Officers Election of year officers, planning for an outing during the coming summer, sum-mer, transacting other bus'ness and concluding with a watermelon "bust" were the big features, at a meeting of the Gunnison chapter of the Future Fu-ture Farmers of America, held at the Gunnison Valley high school building Wednesday evening of last week. Thirty enthusiastic members of the local organization attended the meeting, meet-ing, and all were highly elated as to the results. At the business meeting the matter mat-ter of a "special outing" during the season of 1936 was widely discussed, and finally it was voted to work to the end of making the vacation a reality. Yellowstone National park, the attractive place which has drawn many F. F. A. outing groups from the western country, was definitely settled as the place for the journey. Fathers of the boys, in all likelihood, will go with the boys from Gunnison on the trip. In the selection of officers to guide the destinies of the Future Farmers of America for the Gunnison chapter chap-ter for the ensuing year, Max Soren-son Soren-son was named president; Earl Edwards Ed-wards was named vice-president; Mo-lcn Mo-lcn Peterson, secretary - treasurer; Vasca Despain, watch dog, and Floyd Kaneko, reporter. The newly elected officers, together toge-ther w'th the judging team, comprising compris-ing Allen (Frandsen, Neldon Jensen and Paul Mellor, will leave for Logan Lo-gan Sunday, August 25. Monday and Tuesday the Gunnison group will attend at-tend the state judging contests and the state F. F. A. convention, which will be hold at Logan for two days. The Gunnison boys will travel via bus and expect to return home sometime 1 Wednesday afternoon. The caravan will be under the d'rortion of I. L. llonrie. ; Following the business session hel l last week, the members of the organization or-ganization jcined in a watermelon "bust" and enjoyed a social half hour. |
