Show Primary Pageant Proves Big Success Splendor and magnitude marked the festivities of the celebration of the 50th anniversary in Gunnison last Friday, of the organization of the Primary organisation of the Lj ter Day Saints church. A mam mo . parade, extending for nearly a miw, showing different phases of the progress pro-gress and development of the primary pri-mary association, proved one of the real features of the afternoon. Me; -bers of the association from tho seven wards of the Gunnison stake, participated in the parade and the pageant and it is conservatively estimated esti-mated that nearly 2000 people witnessed wit-nessed the performance. " The parade started at three thirty and was one of the most inspiring and spectacular ever staged in Gunnison. Gun-nison. Among the outstanding features fea-tures in the floats were the "Queen's" float. Miss Clara Jensen of Clarion, "queen" of the day, escorted by four maids and two pages, occupied tho prominent position on this float. Tho Japanese float, declared by many to be the best and most attractive in the parade, was a pleasing picture. . A Japanese summer home was represented, rep-resented, showing the tea garden, with women and girl attendants attired at-tired in Japanese dress. Centerfield ward was represented with an attractive float, depicting the "Blue Bird Girls." The colorings and full effect were vividly portre. -ed of the organization the float represented. rep-resented. The stake primary board was seen in a similar float as was shown at the Primary Jubilee seen at Salt Lake last June. The stke presidency and the "Birthday Cake'' float were also attractive features of the parade. No other wards than those mentioned had floats in tho parade. A band, clowns and decorated decor-ated animals, together with civilians j in automobiles, added much to the success of the parade. Following the parade the crowda assembled at Gunnison.' City park where a pleasing pageant was presented. pre-sented.
