Show r Banks Warned To ; Heed Savings Rules ' Official announcement has been made and due warnings sent to ' every bank in Utah carrying a 5 state charter, to the effect that savings accounts cannot be with- drawn from any institution only on the required notice to the bank " when clients seek to withdraw ' savings accounts. Thus spoke W. H. Hadlock, state bank commis- sioner, who made a brief stop here Saturday to confer with Ira Overfelt, cashier for the Gunnison Valley bank. Notices of intent to l withdraw savings accounts vary ( in time, and are only available to withdrawal after the stipulated time has been given." r Commissioner Hadlock, who ; was just returning from Rich- ' field, where he had been in con- ference with officers of the de- funct State Bank of Sevier, at Richfield, which was closed the ' first of the week, deplored the " "panicky" attitude of the citizens in the towns and cities where banks were forced to close due to "unfounded rumors," and he in- timated that if the people would only hold their heads and be con- servative, towns would not be wrecked and business ruined, which has proven true in many of the instances throughout the state during the past few months. |
