Peterson, who, with members of the city council, and C. M. Edwards, city attorney, has just compiled the apportionments to the various departments. de-partments. The budget, it is announced, announc-ed, will show a slight increase over that for 1930, with a view to providing provid-ing funds for installing steel pipe along the highway, which is now being be-ing improved, and to supply additional addition-al funds for graveling the cemetery road and the city streets. If the budget bud-get is finally adopted, more than likely the proposed graveling campaign cam-paign will be started at once to afford af-ford work for the few unemployed that live here. At the December 30 meeting, which will be made public, and at which time the proposed budget will be discussed, final action will be taken on the passage. of the measure. The public is urged to be present and make suggestions and aid the members mem-bers of the council in providing the necessary funds with which to conduct the city's affairs. Following are the proposed allottments for the various funds as outlined by the council: Estimated necessary expenditures of general fund, $7,470. Water fund, ?3 325; estimated revenue general fund, 55,555 ; revenue water fund, S5.630. The general fund includes improvements improve-ments on the City hall for $300; City hall maintenance, $50; salary for city officers, 1,225; police, $1,600; streets and bridges, 5600; legal expense, $175; office supples, $100; cemetery and park, $200; miscellaneous, $1,450. General expense, street lighting, $1,770; water fund, miscellaneous expense, ex-pense, $2,000; bnnd and interest, $325; sinking fund, $1,000. |
