Show j Axtell Matron Dies After Long Illness Mary Eliza Jacobsen, widely known church worker and prominent in social so-cial work at Axtell, died at the family fam-ily home at Axtell Tuesday morning at one o'clock, following a lingering illness. Some few years ago Mrs. Jacobsen suffered heart attacks and last January her malady was aggravated aggra-vated with an attack of dropsy. She was forced to her bed where she remained re-mained until death relieved her sufferings. suf-ferings. Mrs. Jacobsen was a native of Pennsylvania, Penn-sylvania, having been born at Pittsburg Pitts-burg November 4, 1881. When a young woman she came west with her par-i par-i cnts and located at Emery. In 190G she was married to James C. Jaccb-; Jaccb-; sen and later the family located at Axtell. Besides the husband, two daughters, Pansy and Helen; two sons, Grant and Howard Jacobsen, and a brother, Geo. Roadman of Kinghill, Idaho, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Christensen Chris-tensen of Seattle, are left as survivors. surviv-ors. Mrs. Jacobsen was an active worker jn church offices of the Mormon church and for a year and a half she served as postmistress at Axtell. Funeral services will be held this afternoon, and will be conducted at the Mayfield school building. Burial will be at the Mayfield cemetery. |
