Show Legion Will Aid In Securing Pensions Through a movement inaugurated at Salt Lake last Sunday, when Frank W. Thurston, district committeeman of the American Legion for distii't number 6, met with other Utah department de-partment executive officers, ex-service men who are enlifled to compensation compen-sation will be better enabled to ron-j ron-j taet with the government in filing I claims for disabilities for compensa-j compensa-j tion than the method formerly mi 'vogue. Following much discussion, L. Dow Young, prominent in Legion circles at Price, was named as assistant assis-tant officer to Otto Weir-ley, state adjutant. Mr. Young, the new ;ip-poinlee, ;ip-poinlee, it is announced, will make direct contact with all ex-service mo'i of the slate to assist in filing of disability dis-ability claims, and many other matters mat-ters for which compensation may be needed. Committeeman Thurston also announcer an-nouncer that a conjoint session of th.j ; Legion members of I'ark City and tin-J tin-J state officers was held, at which : time plans were completed and a pro-I pro-I gram approved for the 13th annual convention of the American Legion. The convention will be held at T'ark jCify August 13, 14 unci i5. Committeeman Thurston is : highly enthusiastic over the August I convent ion and announces that the boys of I'ark City will have something some-thing unusual for entertainment, and urges every post member to plan on attending the annual meeting. |
