Elsinore at Nephi. Heavy heaving on the bat by Vil-lard, Vil-lard, Stubbs, Kump and Hugh Hal-verson, Hal-verson, for the Gunners, which netted home runs, three-baggers, two-baggers and singles, carried the local baseball team to - victory over Ephraim Eph-raim by a score of 16 to 12, at the ,cal diamond last Sunday afternoon. ' The bout proved a fast event and some clever playing was shown by both teams. Although the scores were high, the fans took the game as good and thoroughly enjoyed the activities on both sides, as all members of both clubs were in the play. By taking Sunday's game, the Gunners clinched clinch-ed third position, ending the first half with four winnings and four losses. Elsinore defeated Nephi at the home grounds, and for thisi reason took second place in league standing. Saiina Sai-ina was victor in her eight games and tops the league standing. Wilford Bauers, usually stationed at short-stop, took the position of pitcher for the Gunners Sunday for seven innings. The lad gave a good demonstration for a novice. The visitors vis-itors found him for a few hits in the first inning and shot five runs across home plate. Bauers, however, silenced the Ephraimites for four in--n:ngs and they did not come back until un-til the Cth, when four tallies were made. Erickson, the regular twirlet for the Gunners, relieved Bauers in the eighth and was credited with shutting out six men in the two innings. in-nings. The box scores: EPHRAIM. B. H. O. A.
