Show Achievement Day With Clarion Club The Merry Maids 4-H Clothing club of Clarion, and one of the most active ac-tive clubs in the valley, held the annual an-nual achievement day exercises at the Lone Cedar school building V.'ed-nesday V.'ed-nesday evening of last week, and the event proved one of unusual interest. A fine program, consisting of songs, readings, talks, submitting of reports and the awarding of achievement pins, in which club members, officers and leadci's, parents of the club members mem-bers and County Agent C. O. Stott, took part, was given and enjoyed to the limit. The program as outlined, was as follows: Song by club members; mem-bers; invocation, Wanda Dennison; song, club girls; reading, Ruby Niel-son; Niel-son; duet, Elvena Kurap and Gladys Keele; talk, Mrs. N. P. Nielson; piano solo, Mrs. W. II. Westlund; reading. E'nna Squires; Japanese duet, Mary Kimura and Kikuye Kaneko; club constitution con-stitution and by-laws, Kikuye Kaneko. Following the program Mr. Stott presented the achievement pins and in doing bo he gave the workers high praise for the interest that had been shown. Twelve members of the second, sec-ond, tlhird and fourth year sewing clubs, which had enrolled June 15th and had completed the work, were awarded pins. Following the judging of the several sev-eral articles, Mr. Stott made selec-t;ons selec-t;ons which are being exhibited at the Sanpete county fair. The list includes in-cludes Princess' slip, bungalow aprons, ap-rons, sport dresses, gift elective, child's dress with bloomers, summer dresses, dress study . designs, afternoon after-noon dresses, sport hat, remodeled hats, remodeled articles and household house-hold articles. Before the meeting adjourned candy can-dy made by the club members, was served to those present. |
