Show Club Members Hold Swimming Party Twenty members of the first year 4-H cooking club and the second year sewing club, enjoyed the first real outing of the season at Crystal Springs Friday of last week. The groups were under the supervision of the leaders of the respective clubs, Miss Merle Parks, Beatrice Larson and Dee Austin. The picnickers were out for a good time and no form of business was brought up to interfere with the pleasures. The crowd traveled travel-ed to the1 park in a school bus and in addition to the club members there were plenty of delicacies packed awayj for the luncheon. Swimming was the feature pleasure of the trip. The sparkling waters of the Springs proved refreshing, but little thought was given to a "broiling" "broil-ing" sun rays, and ointments, salves and cooling concoctions for blisters, were in great demand when the members mem-bers returned to their homes early in the evening. Both the cooking and sewing clubs, announced Miss Gertrude Edwards, publicity chairman, are doing wonderful wonder-ful work this summer and much is being accomplished by the members. |
