Show Contest Is Promised In School Election That a friendly contest will be waged for the office of school board ! member for the South Sanpete school district, embracing Centerfield, Clar- ion and Axtell, at the December election, elec-tion, is evidenced by the fact that two will seek the office. C. L. Des-pain, Des-pain, who has served the board for the past two years, and whose time I will expire at the - end of the year, I will be a candidate, it is announced. In the event no primary is held at ' Axtell, Mr. Despain will secure the required number of signatures of qualified electors, and file his name as a candidate fir the election. At a primary of the voters of Centerfield Cen-terfield held Monday evening, Sidney J. Fjeldsted was placed in nomination as a candidate to fill the office of school board member. Besides Mr. (Fjeldsted, four other candidates were j seeking the office. They were Chas. ' C. Embley, M. J. Sorenson, Richard Fjeldsted and John S. Bardsley. It ' was mutually among the fifty voters present at the Centerfield primary, that a general vote would first be taken and that the two highest would compete in the final contest. All I but Fjeldsted and Embley were elim-! elim-! inated, and on the final vote, Fjeld-!sted Fjeld-!sted received 26 votes while Embley was only two behind, scoring 24 votes. |
