Show Future Farmers Return From Trip After spending a week touring about the state and attending the Future Fu-ture Farmers' round-up at Logan, the thirty-one boys, members of the Smith-Hughes class at the Gunnison Valley high school, returned to their homes in the valley Wednesday evening eve-ning of last week. The outing was under the supervision of I. L. Henrie, instructor in Smith-Hughes work at the high school, and all members of the party expressed themselves as enjoying en-joying the trip and finding it very educational and entertaining. The first stop made by the party was at the Garden City, Provo, where the Brigham Young university and the state mental hospital were the points of interest. At Salt Lake City the Utah Poultry Producers' association associa-tion plant was visited and trips taken to the University of Utah, the airport, air-port, capitol building, temple grounds, Salt Lake Tribune building and Liberty Li-berty park, while in the evening the party attended the best show in the city. The Ogden stockyards, state industrial in-dustrial school, American Packing Co. plant, U. P. railroad company's roundhouse, round-house, Pierce's tomato cannery, Sper-ry Sper-ry Flour and Feed mills, were visited visit-ed in Ogden. At Logan the boys were guests at the annual Future Farmers round-up, where entertaining and educational edu-cational features took their time. On the return trip the party stopped at Lagoon for a short time and then were entertained at a big banquet at one of the larger Salt Lake hotels. The entire trip, for transportation and cabin expenses, cost each of the boys the small sum of $2.50. |
