Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. Floyd Childs and Mrs. Alice Duggrns spent Thursday and Friday of last week at Salt Lake, combining business with pleasure. Mrs. Dean Bawden, who spent last week visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Francis, returned to her home in Salt Lake City Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer "Tuggle" Niel-son Niel-son and children of Richfield, availed avail-ed themselves of the holiday and visited vis-ited with relatives and friends in Gunnison, their former home. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Pingree and children and Mrs. F. L. Copening of Salt Lake, were week-end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Knighton. Mrs. Cyril" Beck of this city and Mrs. Newman Beck and Miss Ruth Beck of Centerfield, were guests at a shower for Mrs. Grant Harris, a recent bride, at Ephraim Tuesday eYe-ning. eYe-ning. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Willardson, Miss LaPriel Myrup and Bob Payne of Salt Lake, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Q. Myrup at Centerfield on Labor day. Thelma Willardson returned to her home at Salt Lake City Monday evening eve-ning after a three-day visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willardson. Willard-son. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnson motored mo-tored to Salt Lake Saturday and spent the week-end and Labor day visiting with relatives and friends. Mrs. Wayne Preator and children returned to Salt Lake Tuesday, accompanied ac-companied by Mr. Preator. Mrs. Preator Prea-tor had spent a week here visiting with her mother, Mrs. Belle McKenna. 4 Royal McKenna, who spent three weeks here as a guest of his mother, Mrs. Belle McKenna, returned to his work at Pagoda, Colo. Royal is employed em-ployed on a large ranch near Pagoda. Mr. and Mrs. Mont Sorenson were host and hostess at a delicious hot chicken dinner at their home in Centerfield Cen-terfield Monday evening, following the dance at Cremona. Covers were laid - for ten. Kearns Ferre, Chas. Ferre and a Mr. Wood, officers of the Utah Poultry Poul-try Producers' association at Salt Lake City, were luncheon guests Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willardson. Manley Newman and Seorge Fran-1 cis motored to the veterans' camp at Camp Nebo Sunday. After spending some time at the camp they visited the Mt. Nebo ranger station and returned re-turned by way of Levan, where they spent some time visiting with rela-! tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Real of Los, Angeles, are visiting at the home of Mrs. Beal's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Soren Andersen, at Centerfield. Mr. Beat, a member of tho Los Angeles j fire department force, is enjoying his annual vacation. J. E. McMullin, fieldman for the state land board, spent several days here this week checking up interests of the state organization. The state land board, according to Mr. McMul-: McMul-: lin, has a quantity of hay and wheat I which will be put on the local market. j Miss Mildred Borg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Borg, left Tues-! Tues-! day morning for Washington, D. C, where she expects to remain indefinitely indefin-itely visiting with her sister, Mrs. A. N. Taylor. While at the nation's capi-j capi-j tal Miss Borg will take a civil ser-i ser-i vice examination with the view of obtaining ob-taining government work. |
