Show Gunnison Clouters Defeated By Salina Overcoming a lead of four runs at the end of the sixth inning, with the score standing 6 to 2 in favor of Gumr'son, the Salina ball team made a spludgc, taking the lead by two runs at the end of the seventh inning, and the final score resulted in Salina winning, win-ning, 11 to 6. Erickson, the Ephraim pitcher, was on the mound for Gunnison, Gunni-son, and the clever pitcher did splendid splen-did work until the seventh, when the visitors scored six runs. Lester Fred-rickson Fred-rickson was substituted for Erickson at the opening of the eighth. "Charley" "Char-ley" was batted for three runs in the eighth, but Salina failed to score in the ninth. Gunnison's pitcher, at the start, had Salina guessing, and for six innings :ie held them down to two lone runs with his clever curves. Nyles Christensen, Salina's southpaw, south-paw, started pitching for Salina. The hoodoo" was on his shoulder and his firm was anything but correct. Gunnison Gun-nison hit freely and at one time the bases were filled. Eddie Jensen was placed in the box for Salina and the first man up got a walk, thus per- j mitting a Gunnison player to score j without effort. Eddie, however, tight- j ened up, and though hit freely, his support held' the Gunnison boys from doing a great deal of damage. Three homers were made during the game, Modeen and Fredrickson of the Gunnison team, and Ed. Bird of Salina, each making the circuit on long, clean hits. The usual "kick" on the umpiring was again manifest, and created no good feeling among the fans. Some "raw" ones were made, as Ls found in every game.
