Show Governor Dern Proclaims Nov. 29 Thanksgiving Day the state of Utah, do designate Thursday, Thurs-day, November 29th, as Thanksgiving Day and urge that on this day the people of Utah refrain from labor and devote themselves in their homes and in their places of worship to prayers of thanksgiving for the mani-ifold mani-ifold riches, material and spiritual, which have been vouchsafed to us by Divine Providence. Further, I ask that on this national holiday proper display be made of the flag we cherish cher-ish and honor." Governor George H. Dern issued a proclamation Saturday, calling forj widespread observance of Thanksgiv-j "ng day, Thursday, November 29th, j and urging the people to give thanks ; to Divine Providence for a multiplicity j of blessing enjoyed in this state. His proclamation follows: "We, who have enjoyed good fortune for-tune to live in Utah have so many j blessings to be grateful for that we I should enter wholly into the spirit of' that dist'nctively American holiday, Thanksgiving Day. We are prospering prosper-ing material things through the pro-; ducts of our mines, farms and flocks and factories. We are prospering in .the greater appreciation of the beauties beau-ties which nature has so lavishly be- stowed upon the state. We are progressing pro-gressing in the development of an alert and well formed citizenry.
