Show CENTERFIELD NEWS ITEMS -I 1- The rain shower which visited Centerfield Sunday morning, proved highly beneficial to crops. It cooled and cleared a foul atmosphere and aided materially in settling the dust along the highway. Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson, and Ernest and Marius Anderson, Mrs. Andrew Whitlock and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Toleman of Otto, Wyo., spent several days here visiting with relatives and friends and renewing old acquaintances. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were natives of Gunnison valley, leaving here ' some twenty seven years ago. The visitors left for the north Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs D. B. Funk announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Lura Funk, to Vernon H. Sorenson of Gunnison. The wedding will take place at the Manti temple Wednesday, September 5th. Mrs. Mark Follett and children of Garfield, are visiting at the home of Mrs. L. M. Larsen, mother to Mrs. Follett. Mr. and Mrs Brig F. Duffin and Miss Ida Duffin, have returned to Salt Lake after spending a short time visiting at the home of Chas. H. Embley. The Duffins were just returning from motor trip to the Dixie country. C. H. Embley attended a party given in honor of John Larson of Gunnison, Monday afternoon. It was Mr. Larson's 80th birthday adversary adver-sary and Mr. Embley reports a good time and fine entertainment, j Miss Lura Funk, whose marriage will take place September 5, was the honored guest Wednesday afternoon after-noon at a "miscellaneous" shower held at the home of Mrs. M. J. Sorenson. The party was arranged by Mrs. Sorenson, Mrs. E. A. Wil-lardson Wil-lardson and Mrs. Rupert Bouvang. |
