Show Feeding Baby Beef Prof. P. E. Rusk, from the University Univer-sity of New Hampshire, is an advocate advo-cate of the use of silage in feeding baby beef. He says that silage and legume hay must largely replace the grain in the ration of the breeding herd if baby beef is to be grown prof itably. Allowance should be made for at least 30 to 40 pounds per day. lie says that it Is possible to put on a gain of about 200 pounds per cow during dur-ing the winter months where a ration of good silage and legume hay Is fed. |
