Show Gunners-Mayfield Play Double-Header The Gunners and Mayfield battled two seven-inning games Tuesday as a Fourth of July feature, and the double header was evenly divided, the Gunners losing the first game played on the local diamond by a score of 15 to 12, and then snared the second at Mayfield by a score of 9 to 8. Both games were hotly contested, the game at Mayfield being particularly close. Both teams gave the patrons a clean game at each session and at no time was there a "rangle" to create discord among the players or the crowds that had gathered to witness the games. Wilford Bauer, ace chucker for the Gunners, was taking his day off and did not appear in the holiday games. Walt Villard and Elbert Modeen performed from the mound in the opening game for the Gunners, while Faatz and Christensen did the pitching pitch-ing for Mayfield. In the second game Manager Stanley Anderson and Walt Villard did the chucking, and Orin (Continued on last page) Gunners - Mayfield Play Double Header (Continued from page 1) Whitlock represented Mayfield in the box.
